Where do I find a stock report for my Shopify products?
Open Stock Monitor from your Shopify admin and choose Products in the app menu. Totals across the top, such as Total out of stock products, count only active products that track inventory.
Below them is your list of active, published products, apart from any you have excluded. Products that do not track inventory still appear in the list, but not in the totals.
The list works as a live stock report. To get a report sent to you each day instead, see the daily email report.
What do the columns show?
- Stock Status is In stock, Low in stock or Out of stock. It follows your Product status mode and your low stock threshold.
- Inventory Quantity is the number in stock. A product with several variants also shows how many variants it has.
- Days Out Of Stock is the number of days the product was out of stock in the period you choose with the date button. To put a cost on those days, see What is a stockout, and what does it cost a Shopify store?
- Out Of Stock Since is the date the product was last in stock. It appears only for products that are out of stock now.
- Vendor, Inventory Value and Cost are shown by default. Price, Product Type and SKUs are hidden until you turn them on.
On a wide screen, click Edit columns to hide, show or reorder columns.
How do I find a product or filter the list?
Type in Search products, or paste a product or variant ID. The filters are Product Type, Vendor, Stock Status and Tagged with, and each accepts more than one value. Choose Save as to keep your filters, sort order and columns as a tab.
How do I change the period?
Use the date button at the top right. Choose Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 180 days or Last 365 days, or pick your own dates on the calendar and click Apply. The page opens on Last 365 days. The period changes Days Out Of Stock. It does not filter the list.
How do I see the inventory history of a Shopify product?
Click a product name. View product opens it in Shopify, and the page has these parts:
- Days out of stock opens a calendar with one square per day: red for out of stock, amber for low and green for in stock. Hover over a day to see its quantity.
- Inventory Quantity and Inventory Value switch the chart to quantity and value over time.
- A product with one variant has a day by day table, newest first. A product with several variants has a Variants table instead. Click a variant to open its own page with the same figures.
The badge beside a product’s name goes by its total quantity, while the Stock Status column follows your Product status mode. With Any variant they can differ.
How far back does history go?
Stock Monitor records each product once a night, so your history starts on the date shown in Collecting data since. It cannot show days from before you installed. Today’s row shows the current quantity.
The app currently shows up to the last 365 days of history. To keep a copy of your history, read how to export it.
